Simón Torras

Project Development
Co-Founder

Simón is an experienced operator and entrepreneur with a background in finance, strategy, and scaling up companies. He was the founder and CEO of Bageera, the first European platform solely focused on structuring financing vehicles for natural capital assets. Prior to the launch of Bageera, Simón was an Associate at Morgan Stanley’s Investment Banking Division, where he worked on structuring M&A and capital market deals for real assets and infrastructure companies. Thanks to his combined experience as an operator and financier of real assets, Simón has a deep understanding of the challenges of early stage companies as well as a track record in managing large deals with complex commercial structures and long project development cycles.

Simón splits his time between London and Ponterra’s operating sites. This allows him to oversee project operations while ensuring that on-the-ground systems are set up for scale and in line with the general group’s strategy.

He holds degrees from ESADE Business School and The London School of Economics, where he has conducted extensive research on various topics relating to the economics of nature and the anomalies in the pricing of ecosystem services.
